BIOGRAPHY

The brazilian tenor Caio Durán  started  to  study in 2005 with  the tenor Benito Maresca and Isabel Maresca. He continued his studies at "Escola Municipal de Música" and after at "Carlos Gomes" College, in São Paulo, where he graduated in “Erudite Chant” in 2009.

He was the winner of first prize in the contest "A Pauta Mágica" in 2007, "Revelation  Prize"  in  the  brazilian  contest "Maria Callas" in 2009 and “Carlos Gomes Contest" in 2013. He took part in masterclasses with: Luciana Serra, Marco Gandini, David Gowland, Luis Alva, Marcello Giordani, Gregory Kunde, Marianne Cornetti, Iris Vermillion, Maria Bayo, Vittorio Grigolo, Andre Heller-Lopes, Eliane Coelho, Angelo Loforese, Santos Ariño, Aarón Zapico, Ana Luisa Chóva and Gianni Fabbrini.

Played in the following roles: Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni, by Mozart), Tito (La  clemenza  di  Tito,  by  Mozart), Tamino (Die zauberflöte, by Mozart), Oronte  (Alcina,  by  Händel),  Franz (Les contes d'Hoffmann, by Offenbach) Colin (Le devin du village, by  Rousseau), Conte d'Almaviva (Il barbiere di Siviglia, by Rossini), Borsa (Rigoletto, by Verdi), Gastone (La traviata, by Verdi), Don Ramiro (Colombo,  by  Gomes), Don Alvaro (Il Guarany,  by Gomes),  Spoletta (Tosca, by Puccini), Flavio (Norma, by  Bellini), Cascada (Die lustige witwe, by Lehár) e Augusto (A moreninha, by Mahle). His repertoire also includes Beethoven's Symphony No. 9, Mozart's Requiem and Ode to St. Cecilia (Purcell).

Caio Durán also develops with great versatility a delicate work of the Brazilian and international chamber repertoire, from baroque to contemporary.

He  collaborated  with  the following conductors: Alex  Klein, Felix  Krieger, Cláudio Cruz, Roberto Duarte, Edmar Ferreti, Luís Gustavo Petri, Gabriel Rhein-Schirato, Ernest Mahle, Diego Crovetti, Patrick Furnillier, Roberto Gianola and Alessandro Sangiorgi and with the  following  stage  managers: Lívia  Sabag,  Mauro  Wrona,  Iacov  Hillel, Cleber Papa, William Pereira, Caetano Vilela, Gianni Quaranta and Miguel Falabella in the theaters: Theatro São Pedro, Theatro Municipal de São Paulo, Theatro Pedro II, Teatro Arthur Rubinstein, São Paulo (Brazil);  Teatro  Rondon  Pacheco,  Teatro  Municipal,  Uberlândia (Brazil);  Teatro Cagnoni, Vigevano (Italy); Teatro Villa, Teatro Dal Verme, Milan (Italy); Soirées Lyriques, Sanxay (France); Royal Opera House, Muscat (Oman).

In 2012, he graduated in "Triennio Accademico - Canto" at the “Civica Scuola di Musica Claudio Abbado”, in Milan (Italy), with Maestro Vincenzo Manno and "Arte Scenica" with scene director Antonello Madau-Díaz. In this period, prepared his  repertoire with the vocal coach Eugenio Krizanovsky in Milan.

In 2016 he graduated in the Opera Studio of "Theatro Municipal de São Paulo".

In 2021 he obtained a Master of Operatic Interpretation at the “Conservatorio Superior de Musica Joaquín Rodrigo” in Valencia, Spain.
